The inaugural Lawrence Busker Fest at Downtown Lawrence, KS was tons of fun. The entertainment was fabulous, and the turnout (8,000 kids, moms, dad, students and friends!) was fantastic.

Plans already are underway for Busker Festival 2009 on August 21-23, with even more great performances by national and local acts and more surprises around each corner downtown.

The Lawrence Busker Festival was originally inspired by the many street festivals all over the world but seemingly gone from America. We tapped into the immense local talent and they delivered with all the wonder and weirdness you would find at any busker event anywhere. We also got immense support from the community who showed up and showed their appreciation with applause and tips. Artists and audiences were impressed and encouraged. The request to do it again has been overhwhelming. So keep watching this space for more info!
